I don't think Rishi Sunak's race had much to do with his selection as party leader. Interestingly, there have been a number of non-white conservative cabinet ministers of late. It's worth noting that typically, they're quite a distance to the right of their Caucasian brethren, particularly when discussing immigration.

I agree, in the big scheme of things it doesn’t matter whether it was or was not done. As Jon pointed out there are other transcriptions that he says sound better. Regardless, the time and effort must have been worth it to her.
Will just have to see how her transcription stands up to the test of time.
